The “Y coupling” was developed to compensate very large radial displacements of plant parts without creating large reset forces on the corresponding shaft bearings. The “Y coupling” is a torsionally flexible coupling which compensates the radial displacements that arise not through distension of the elastic elements but through a displacement of the geometrical arrangement of the individual parts in the interior of the coupling.
